To Matt, serving in this role is a daily opportunity to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. He’s passionate about lifting clients up by helping them better understand the financial details that impact their lives. From explaining their investment strategies to answering their questions, Matt’s goal is to help each person develop financial security and a meaningful path forward.
Previously, Matt worked as a financial advisor with large national firms and chose to join our team in order to provide more thorough and personalized financial planning. He also gained diverse career experience as a restaurant owner and a mechanic with a NASCAR Pit Crew. From these experiences, he gained insight early in his life about the importance of serving others and remaining disciplined in his actions. He decided to become a wealth advisor after seeing people close to him struggle financially with no retirement plan or awareness of the impact of their financial decisions. Today, his aim is to help others avoid the common pitfalls that result from poor financial acumen.
Originally from Mississippi, Matt moved to Mooresville, NC, in 2005. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance through Strayer University and holds his Series 7 and 66 designations, and Life, Health, Long Term Care, and Medicare licenses. In his free time, Matt and his wife, Denise, are very active and enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains, paddleboarding on Lake Norman, and riding their mountain bikes. They also have four rescue animals Nikki, Joey, Bella and Pink who they love to dote on. Matt is still an avid racing fan and amateur race car driver, and also serves as a driving coach for the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
